DC Kupwara reiterates appeal for CAB, inoculation at vaccination centres
KUPWARA, JUNE 14: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today reiterated his appeal to general public and all other stakeholders to continue following Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) strictly for some more days so that district Kupwara could come out of Red Zone.
He said the joint efforts made by the Health, Civil and Police administration in the mitigation process of COVID-19 has yielded better results on ground across district Kupwara.
The DC was addressing media persons here regarding Covid containment measures in the district.
The Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kouser Amin were present at the occasion.
Giving details, the DC said that the recovery rate has increased upto 92.32 percent whereas, positivity rate has drastically come down to 2.94 percent in the district. He congratulated Health Department Officials and all those persons involved in Covid-19 mitigation efforts for their hard work and good result.
The DC said that the number of total positive cases in the district is 13264 whileas the number of recovered patients is 12245. He said the district witness 152 deaths since the beginning of Covid-19.
Regarding Isolation of positive cases, the DC said that 72 positive cases are in Hospital Isolation while 745 positive cases are under home isolation.
He once again appealed to the people of the district to religiously follow the CAB and attend nearest Vaccination centres for timely inoculation against Covid-19 pandemic.
He also appealed media persons to promote positivity with regard to COVID containment efforts in the district, adding that press briefing twice a week envisaged to give correct and appropriate information to the public and to stop every kind of misinformation or rumor mongering.
