Situation improving, CAB, SOPs vital to prevent spike in infections : DC Anantnag
Appeals people to get vaccinated forthwith, cautions against complacency
ANANTNAG, JUNE 18: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today said that the Covid-19 situation is improving gradually with discharge and recovery rates showing appreciable improvement and positivity and bed occupancy rates witnessing downward slide during last 07 days in the district.
He said the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and SOPs are vital to prevent any spike in infections and cautioned against any complacency on part of the stakeholders so that the virus is kept at bay and its spread is curtailed further.
The DC made these remarks while briefing on COVID-19 scenario and the measures taken to mitigate its effect in the district.
Giving details, Dr. Singla informed that recovery rate went further up to about 95 percent while positivity rate remained below 03 percent during this period.
Regarding vaccination, the DC said more than 2.5 lac doses have been administered to 45 plus priority and 18 to 45 high risk/vulnerable groups so far, adding that efforts are being intensified to achieve cent percent inoculation of the target population in coming weeks.
Under the supervision of senior officers, door to door vaccination drives are being carried out to inoculate the remaining target population besides aggressive sampling, with 2200 plus average daily tests, is being done across the district, he elaborated.
Dr. Singla appealed to the eligible people to get vaccinated forthwith so that more vaccinations in a shorter span of time are done which will translate into significant Herd Immunity sooner.
Hailing efforts of line departments and all stakeholders for bringing the situation under control, the DC impressed upon them to remain focussed and committed so as to consolidate the results.
