Weekly Block Diwas held at Ganderbal
DC listens to people’s grievances
GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 01: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today chaired the weekly Block Diwas at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat here to listen to public issues.
The Block Diwas was attended by DDC Members, BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanches, Panches and representatives of Youth Clubs from Sherpathri, Lar, Wakura and Ganderbal blocks who apprised the DC about the issues and demands pertaining to their areas.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pir Muzafar Ahmad and BDO Ganderbal were also present on the occasion.
The PRIs put forth their demands seeking repair of roads and flood channels damaged due to recently flash floods in Gutlibagh and Waliwar areas, improved road connectivity, renovation and fencing of school buildings, better Health facilities, up-gradation of Jal Shakti and power infrastructure besides other issues of public concern.
While interacting with the PRIs, the DC said that the district officers are instructed to establish close liaison with the PRIs and public and directed to keep the track on the projected grievances in weekly Block Diwas till the same are redressed.
Highlighting the importance of Block Diwas, the DC said that the ambitious program is aimed at assessing the development needs and to understand the problems of the public more appropriately.
While addressing the gathering, Jyotsna said that PRIs can play a very effective role in supervision and monitoring of development works in their areas for their timely completion.
She urged them to cooperate with the district administration and play a proactive role to save the society from the looming threat of Covid 3rd wave by motivating the general public for vaccination and adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour which is only effective way to save our lives from Covid infection.
