Windstorm leaves trail of destruction across Kashmir

The sudden windstorm and hail storm has damaged a lot of properties while four people have lost their lives due to this extreme weather condition.
Although the weather department had not predicted such a storm, it started suddenly in many parts of Kashmir and impacted life and property in Budgam, Sopore and Ganderbal.
Not only the human lives were lost but there have been reports that the hailstorm has devastated a large number of orchards across Kashmir.
Erratic weather conditions in the spring season have already started showing impact on the cultivation of different farming varieties. The impact has been witnessed on the strawberry cultivation in different parts of Kashmir as the erratic weather conditions prevail.
The dry weather conditions are now being replaced by the sudden hailstorms and windstorms which are leaving the trail of destruction to life, property and the horticulture sector of Kashmir.
Farmers and orchardists have already appealed to the authorities to send their teams to the affected areas for the assessment of damages by these hailstorms and windstorms.
