Directs for launching Massive Anti-Encroachment drive to retrieve State/Kacharie land

Sets timeline of 10 days for 100% digitisation of balance work of Jamabandis

SRINAGAR, MAY 23 : In order to review the functioning of Revenue Department to ensure efficient and ensure effective , efficient and prompt public service delivery system in the District, a meeting of all Revenue Officers of the District was today held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad here in the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.

Besides, Director Survey Land Records, Kashmir, Nazir Ahamd Khwaja, the meeting among others was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrate West all Tehsildars.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of all vital matters including removal of encroachments on Kahcharai and State Land, writing of Jamabandies, status of Grievances redressal mechanism, status of pending Court cases, implementation of e-Office, issues regarding Nazool Land and digitization of Jamabandies.

The DC was also given the latest update about the status of redressal of online/offline Grievances particularly about Migrant properties.

 While reviewing the progress of Jamabandies, the DC was informed that out of total 137 Jamabandies of Srinagar district digitization of 131 Jamabandies have been completed so far and rest will be digitized by the end of this month.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed all the Tehsildars to launch an anti-encroachment drive on a massive scale in all the Tehsils of the District so that all identified encroached State/Kahcharie land is retrieved from the land grabbers in a time bound manner. He asked them to conduct an anti encroachment drive on a weekly basis and enforce legal action against the violators.

The DC asked the Tehsildars to further improve the public service delivery system at their respective Tehsil Offices and monitor each chunk of land in their respective jurisdictions. He also asked them to activate their field staff to keep proper check and vigil on any kind of encroachments in respective jurisdiction.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said performance of Revenue Officers is being strictly monitored on the parameters of eviction and protection of State/Kahcharie land and effective, efficient and prompt implementation of Public Services Guarantee Act. He directed them to work with added zeal and missionary approach to safeguard State/Kahcharie land from land grabbers, besides ensuring hassle free public delivery system in the District.

With regard to functioning of Grievance Redressal Mechanism, the DC asked all the Tehsildars to ensure quality disposal of all online/offline Grievances particularly about Migrant properties in a time bound manner.

The DC also directed for notifying schedule for holding mutation related camps to facilitate the people.

Concerning over the rising occurrences of fire incidents in the City, the DC stressed on installation of fire extinguishers in every Residential/Commercial/Religious structures, Shopping Malls, across the City to protect the precious lives, properties and valuables from the fire. He also urged for conducting of the safety audit and taking precautionary measures to avoid such incidents.

With regard to ensuring all essential commodities are sold at Government approved rates as per the quality standards with sufficient availability of consumables and prevent profiteering and black marketing by shopkeepers/business establishments operating in Srinagar, the Deputy Commissioner directed all the Tehsildars to conduct regular market checking across Srinagar District to ensure all essential commodities are sold at Government approved rates.

Meanwhile DC while discussing status of digitisation of Jamabandis said that the balance work of digitisation of Jamabandis shall be completed  in next 10 days without fail.
