Director Agriculture Kashmir visits different areas of Pulwama; interacts with Vegetable growers
SRINAGAR, MAY 24: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of district Pulwama.
During the visit, the Director interacted with the vegetable growers of Kakpora and other adjacent villages and monitored the paddy transplantation in the district. He met a number of farmers and took on spot feedback regarding various interventions introduced by the Department and adopted by the farmers of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director assured the farmers that the Department is committed to provide them technical guidance during various agricultural activities so that the good returns could be fetched and socio economic transformation of the farming community of the region could be achieved.
He asked the farmers to strictly follow the instructions and guidance provided to them by the department (extension workers).
Iqbal directed the concerned officers of the Department to assist and facilitate the farmers for the paddy transplantation, as these days paddy transplantation is being carried out on a large scale across the Kashmir division.
He asked the officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farmers and ensure their presence on the farmer’s field on a daily basis till the paddy transplantation activity is completed. He asked the officers to update on a daily basis the status of paddy transplantation to the Directorate of Agriculture, Kashmir.
