In a boost to rural healthcare infrastructure, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, recently inaugurated the Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo Memorial Sub-District Hospital (SDH) building at D.H. Pora and the newly constructed New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) building at Ahmedabad Kulgam.

Fulfilling a long pending demand of the local population, these healthcare facilities are poised to enhance the medical care services in this rural belt of the district.

The Sub-District Hospital, a project of Rs 11 crore, has been constructed by the Police Housing Corporation and is expected to cater to a large population, thereby improving access to quality healthcare.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards strengthening the rural healthcare facilities. She underscored the importance of such projects in ensuring equitable health services for all.

She stated that the Omar Abdullah led government remains dedicated to public welfare and numerous initiatives have been undertaken in recent months to uplift the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She also instructed the authorities to accommodate a 30 bed Ayush facility in the hospital.

Locals expressed their appreciation for the government’s proactive steps in addressing crucial healthcare needs of the area.

She highlighted the government’s focus on providing quality education in every corner of Jammu and Kashmir.
