BJP worker injured in Budgam attack succumbs in Srinagar
A day after militants shot at and critically injured a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in Ompora Budgam in central Kashmir, the 38-year-old succumbed to his wounds at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar on Monday.
The party worker, Abdul Hamid Najar, a resident of Ompora, was critically injured when militants fired upon him while he went out for a morning walk. Mr. Najar, who suffered bullet injuries to abdomen and leg, was shifted to the hospital in Srinagar.
However, he died this morning, an unnamed doctor at the hospital confirmed to a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS).
An unnamed police officer also confirmed the death and said that a case has been already registered in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway. (GNS)
