The victim was identified as advocate Reyaz Ahmad Goni, a husband of retired Chief Engineer of Power Development Department (PDD) Shahnaz  Goni. They were presently residing in Greater Kailash, Jammu.

The alleged murder took place on Monday when Riyaz was all alone at home. His wife, Shahnaz is presently in the USA to attend a marriage of her close relative. His daughter, who is expecting her baby also lives in Jammu but she was at her husband’s house and his son was in Goa, who as per family sources, has boarded a flight and is on his way.

One of the slain’s former colleagues told Kashmir Life that since no family member is around, the details are still not known. “What is being said is that the domestic help, a resident of Bihar, has allegedly killed him and fled with his car,” he said, while he was on his way to Goni’s residence.

However, the police have reached the spot to ascertain the details. Despite repeated attempts, the local police official could not be contacted. KL
