Traffic Advisory For Highway Commuters

SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Sunday said that in wake of fair weather and road condition all kinds of vehicles would be allowed to travel from Srinagar towards Jammu in a regulated manner on Monday. However, TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

The traffic department in an advisory said LMVs will have to cross Zig Qazigund from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and no Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

It said that only stranded heavy motor vehicles between Jawahar Tunnel and Zig (Qazigund) shall be allowed towards Jammu. However, no HMV shall be allowed in opposite direction due to the single stretch between Ramban and Banihal.

“Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu,” it reads.

“On 15-1-2021 Friday, there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side in view of maintenance/repairing of the NHW,” it added.

The historic Mughal Road and SSG Road is closed due to snow accumulation, reads the advisory.

It said that Srinagar-Leh highway is closed by the J&K Government vide Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s order No. 400/2020 dated 30-12-2020 till further orders.

People have been advised not to travel on the highway without confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396,18001807091), Ramban (9419993745) and Udhampur(8491928625).
