While the police chief of Kashmir recently said that they are at the verge of concluding the facts and circumstances of Hokarsar encounter, the families are demanding permission to bring back the bodies from Sonmarg for a dissent burial.
IGP Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar said that they were collecting all the evidence which will prove that these three youth were involved in militancy, though police have yet to share the final investigation report with the media.
Recently all the political parties of Kashmir have demanded an impartial probe into this controversial encounter and even CPIM leader met LG Manoj Sinha asking for a fair probe into the matter. This controversial encounter came to focus again when police filed FIR against the father of one youth who was killed in this encounter, for holding a protest demanding probe and body of his son back.
Carrying placards demanding “return bodies to families, respect the right of decent burial” and order “impartial probe into Hokrsar incident,” the NC MPs, Dr. Farooq and Hasnian Masoodi, sought a probe into the encounter and condemned the FIR filed against the family of one of the youths killed in the incident.
They held a protest during the current session of the parliament in New Delhi and have asked the government to come clean in this matter.
