SHD finalises preparedness for shifting livestock to adjoining districts
RAMBAN, MARCH 14: District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Ramban, Dr. Vikas Gupta today reviewed the preparedness for shifting livestock from Chanderkote to other adjoining districts for breeding purposes.
The DSHO informed that the department is all set to shift Government livestock, including 57 male hoggets from Sheep Breeding Farm, Chanderkote to Doda and Kishtwar districts for providing breeding coverage to livestock of private breeders.
He said this initiative has been taken to scale up the quantity and quality of livestock in the region, which would help sheep breeders to improve their income.
The DSHO also inspected over 100 newly-born lambs and gave instructions to the staff for providing better management and feeding to them, besides taking stock of feed and fodder.
Later, Dr. Vikas also listened to the issues of the staff working round-the-clock in livestock centres.
