Despite media reports, no officials visits, no committees to fix responsibility in hospitals

After the media reports in the Jammu region about the growing number of deaths due to covid-19 infection, the government formed a committee to probe and also many senior officials including Lt. Governor himself visited all major hospitals to cross check the facts.
However, for Kashmir the parameters are different alleged, attendants of covid positive patients in Kashmir valley. Poor care to the patients in the hospitals and growing negligence deaths in the hospitals of Srinagar could not invoke official attention so far.
There have been lot complaints about the alleged negligence deaths in the covid care hospitals of Srinagar and also about the ordeal for the patients to get admission in covid designated hospitals and very poor care to them inside the wards by doctors and paramedical staff.
In this connection news agency KNT in its report have highlighted some of such complaints in the covid designated hospitals Srinagar, In its report the agency have said attendants accompanying Covid-19 patients at Chest Disease Hospital here in Kashmir capital Srinagar Wednesday alleged that they face hardships in acquiring Oxygen Cylinders for the patients.
“It is mandatory to get the form duly signed by a Resident Medical Officer and then only patients, even those whose Oxygen saturation is low are put on Oxygen. We are roaming from pillar to post but nobody in the hospital is ready to offer us an Oxygen Cylinder for the patient,” an attendant from Nawakadal Srinagar told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
Another attendant said that despite requesting the Medical Superintendent, his patient was not offered any Oxygen Cylinder. “Authorities must visit the hospital to assess the situation. It is a total mess here. Covid-19 patients have been left on the mercy of Almighty God,” he said.
The attendants of Covid-19 patients said that there are no facilities for the patients in the hospital.
When tried to contact, Medical Superintendent CD Hospital didn’t pick up the phone.
Meanwhile, attends of Covid-19 infected patients held a protest in the premises of Sub-District Hospital Kupwara alleging that the lack of facilities in the hospital are taking a toll on Covid-19 patients. They said even doctors are not available for the Covid-19 patients.
“The hospital didn’t offer anything for the patients, we arrange everything from outside. Even we are being asked to purchase a simple syringe from outside medical shops,” the protesting patients said adding that it is a myth that Covid-19 patients are being taken care in the hospital by so-called ‘Covid Warriors.’
