Kiren Rijiju participates in National Integration Camp at Ganderbal
GANDERBAL, MARCH 06: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju today participated in the interactive session with youth at National Integration Camp hosted by Government Physical Education College Gadoora, Ganderbal to motivate and guide the youth for their active participation in promotion of unity, communal harmony, national integration, FIT India and building new India.
Under the famous ‘Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat’ campaign, National Integration Camp is organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in collaboration with District Administration Ganderbal in which 250 youth from 10 states and J&K are participating.
Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez; IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal; SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal; Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Saleem ur Rehman; Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba; Director State Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan; Deputy Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan; Principal, Government Physical Education College and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Rijiju said that it is great to see so many youth gathered today who belong to different parts of country. “To understand the diversity and richness in our culture and tradition, National Integration Camp is best way for it and in this regard Prime Minister has given us specific instructions for organizing such camps”, he added.
Highlighting the development of sports infra in J&K, he said that under Prime Ministers Development package, various sports infrastructure are being created in J&K among which some projects are already inaugurated and various sports facilities are in pipe line.
The Union Minister added that youth of Kashmir have lot of talent and Government of India is working to provide all facilities to them to show their talent at National and International level. He said government is also working to identify the talent among J&K youth who will be given all facilities including training, lodging and accommodation at National Camp to prepare them for Olympics.
On the occasion, Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez said that true education is gained through such initiatives in which people from different cultures, religions and traditions interact with each other. He said such camps are true learning experiences and it is perfect occasion to understand how diverse and beautiful culture of India is.
To give flip to sports activities in the district, he said more sports facilities are coming in Physical College Gadoora some of which are tendered and in next 6 months Synthetic Athletic Track will be developed here which will be first of its kind in the UT of J&K besides synthetic football turf will also be developed here.
DC Ganderbal who also spoke on the occasion said that it is matter of pride for the district that such a camp is being organized here to understand the ideas, culture and tradition of other states through the participants. He further said that district administration is making all efforts to give flip to sports culture in the district and in this regard district administration is working to create play fields in all 126 Panchayats of the district. He also highlighted the need for youth hostel and NYK Office in the district.
Later sports material kits under FIT India campaign were distributed to over 250 youth hailing from youth clubs/Mahila mandels from Ganderbal and Srinagar district.
