SRINAGAR DEVELOPMENT
There are many developmental projects going on in Srinagar city as there is a lot of scope for the beautification because of the fact that it is being developed as a smart city along with Jammu.
Under the smart city project, Srinagar is getting a facelift and after the completion of many projects it would be the main attraction for the tourists who come to Kashmir for holidays.
Recently LG Manoj Sinha visited Zero Bridge Srinagar and took on-spot assessment of development & beautification of Jhelum River on the lines of Sabarmati Riverfront.
The Jhelum Riverfront project will open up new avenues for the tourism sector, making Srinagar city more vibrant in the coming days after the beautification of Jhelum banks within the Srinagar city would be completed.
During his visit, Manoj Sinha said that Jhelum reflects the culture and history of Kashmir and has a lot of heritage value especially for those tourists who are interested in cultural heritage.
He asked the different wings of his administration to ensure scientific execution of work keeping in view the aesthetic value of the river, taking the ecology factor into consideration. He said that while developing the Srinagar city the administration should ensure that the balance between nature and the development is maintained at all costs.
He said that the ecology factor should be always in the minds of engineers while they execute different beautification projects especially on river Jhelum and other water bodies of Kashmir.
