Joint Directorate office employees of Kashmir on Tuesday protested for the withholding of their salaries after the Director of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) had ordered withholding of salaries of all those employees who were found not present on the duties during the visit of dignitaries here.

According to KNT while reporting about the rescinding of the order it said in its news report on Wednesday as follows.

“Based on the report received from Joint Director Information, Kashmir it has been certified that all employees were present on duty in connection with the visit of various dignitaries to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, Order No. INF/101 of 2021 dated 28.09.2021 issued under endorsement No.INF/Estt-II/2021/2131- 41 dated 28.09.2021 and Notice issued under endorsement No. INF/Estt-141/2021/2121-30 dated 28.09.2021 are withdrawn.

“The order that has been withdrawn was about the absence of employees but the fact is that no employee remains absent and work round the clock,” said an employee.

He said though the order has been withdrawn, they are going to meet the Director and will urge him to release the salaries of employees of both Kashmir and Jammu Division.

Meanwhile, DIPR employees in Jammu observed a pen down strike demanding release of salaries.
