Union Minister Pralhad Joshi concludes his two day Public Outreach Programme at Reasi
REASI, OCTOBER 08: Union Minister for Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pralhad Joshi, who was on a two day visit to district Reasi as part of Union Govt’s Public Outreach Programme, concluded his tour today.
On the second day of his tour, Shri Joshi visited Angi Fish Farm Reasi where while interacting with the farmers involved in pisciculture, the Minister said that the Union Government is committed to doubling farmer’s income by 2022 and concrete measures are being taken in this regard.
The Union Minister called upon the farmers, especially the youth, to take up fish farming and setting up of their own fish farms for increasing their production as the sector has a huge scope for employment which will be supported by the Government of India under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. The Union Minister observed that fish farming can be a great tool to solve the problems of unemployment and poverty.
He also urged upon the farmers of the district to come forward and go for commercial farming along with traditional farming which will not only lessen their efforts but also help them double their income in a short span of time
While inaugurating Scholarship Mela organised by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Department of Revenue and School Education Department at GHSS Aghar Jitto at Katra, the Minister inspected the stalls installed by the Department of Social Welfare, Revenue, Education, Labour Department, common service center and Aadhaar enrollment stalls.
In his address, the Minister said that the Union Government is committed to ensure transparency and accountability in its functioning which are necessary for a democratic and participative governance, as they help build trust and improve impact of schemes.
The Minister expressed his pleasure regarding the efforts of the District Administration to provide the welfare services to uplift the morale and enthusiasm of the needy and meritorious students by organizing Scholarship Mela.
He also expressed his views to frame policy for minimising the documentation process for availing the benefits of various welfare schemes in a hassle free manner.
He advised all students to avail the benefits of various Scholarship Schemes like those for SC, OBC, ST and minority students.
The Minister also emphasised that implementation of National Scholarship Portal and shifting of scholarship from offline to online mode has extended the reach of scholarship benefits among students.
At the material recovery facility center, various methods of the source segregation as well as secondary segregation of waste were demonstrated by safaikaramcharies. The Minister appreciated the sanitation workers for their tireless efforts in keeping the district clean and urged upon them to continue their efforts in this regard.
The Minister also paid a visit to the Waste to Art Exhibition where kids of different age groups participated and presented a number of beautiful products made by them from waste.
Shri Joshi lauded the kids for their performance and urged upon them and the general public to accelerate the efforts to achieve sanitation coverage and also to put focus on cleanliness.
Later prizes were also distributed among the kids who stood first, second and third in the exhibition.
