4.3-magnitude quake in Ladakh, Lahaul-Spiti region

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale rocked the Ladakh region along the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, India Meteorogical Department said. No report of loss of life or damage to property is reported.
The tremors were felt about 108 km away from tourist resort Manali, IMD spokesperson said. The quake was reported at 6.02 am and the epicenter was located at 33.18 degree North and 76.88 degree East at a  depth of  10 km, about  108 km north-north-west  of the Himachal resort town.
The tremors were in the Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It was not felt much by the locals in Himachal as the epicenter and impact was confined  in the unpopulated area of Ladakh region along Lahaul Spiti district, the IMD spokesperson said.
He denied any report of earthquake in Manali though, as reported in a section of media.
