Drinking water
In order to provide drinking water facilities under Jal Jeevan Mission in the rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir the government has set the process in motion in a big way.
Recently the government said that they under the Jal Jeevan Mission have given drinking water facilities in rural schools (23160), Rural Anganwadi Centers (24163) and health centers (3324).
Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir recently said that a contingent plan of activities for ensuring uninterrupted supply of drinking water during winter, Control rooms have been established, men and machinery including DG sets and water tankers have been kept ready to meet any exigency.
He discussed physical and financial status of the Capex Budget of 2021-2022, besides status of NABARD schemes, works taken-up under languishing Projects, work done liabilities under various projects/schemes and expected completion date.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission the officials are busy in laying the water connection for every household of such areas in Jammu and Kashmir which have no roads and have yet to develop.
The government has said that they will ensure that the clean drinking water facility reaches every home in Jammu and Kashmir and this basic facility is available in all the rural schools, Anganwadi centers and other such centers were the people assemble.
