Police chief says only few foreign militants active in North Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir police chief, Dilbagh Singh on Saturday said that graph of violence is down and there are only few foreign militants active in North Kashmir and said that they were responsible for the killing of cops at Bandipora.
In the parliament also during the current session the Union Government has said that the violence is down and there is lot of possibility for the investments to come because of the peace prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir. These claims of the government were contested by the former chief ministers and other politicians who said that the BJP government was twisting facts about Kashmir and the ground situation was very fluid and uncertain.
Talking to the media persons at slain Sopore policeman’s home today, who was killed in an attack at Bandipora yesterday, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)said police have got the initial clues with regard to the attack and it is working to identify the involved militants.
“Police with the support of govt forces has been protecting people and ensuring their well-being, which doesn’t suit the militants, thus are attacking the police force,” he said.
Asked about the number of foreign militants active in north Kashmir, Singh said that the number is not too high, but in the recent infiltrations, some of the militants have infiltrated. “Police is keeping eye on them. Some of them have been killed while the remaining will be neutralised soon,” he added.
