Healthcare system in Jammu and Kashmir is on the path of recovery as the government has kept its special focus for the development of infrastructure including health centers and hospitals.
In Jammu and Kashmir during the pandemic and now with the Omicron variant the healthcare system is showing a prompt response to the needs of common people and the government recently reviewed the functioning of the Health & Medical Education Department.
Chief Secretary of J&K in one of such reviews has directed the Department to rollout patient feedback mechanism through Mera Haspatal by February 2022
He said that in order to make the mechanism more responsive and transparent the direction has been given to all healthcare institutions to obtain quality certification within one year.
He reviewed the functioning of the Health & Medical Education Department and progress achieved under the CAPEX Budget during this financial year.
422 drugs are provided free of cost across all government hospitals, especially under maternal and child health care through government drug stores. The Chief Secretary directed the Health Department to submit a report on procurement, storage, and distribution of free medicines in all government facilities, besides raising awareness on the provision of free medicines through displayed lists at prominent places in the hospital premises.
