Farooq Abdullah after the Parliament’s Budget session was over on Thursday met the Prime Minister and other leaders, but it coincided with the questioning of his son Omar Abdullah in a money laundering case of J&K Bank.
Omar Abdullah was summoned by the ED office and his statement was recorded on Thursday morning according to reports in the media. Farooq Abdullah met Modi in presence of Samajwadi Party’s Mulayam Singh Yadav and other leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
While the delimitation commission was recently on a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and met different delegations before making their report final about the reorganization of assembly and parliamentary segments in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has said that after these exercise elections would be held. As the National Conference and PDP are the main rivals of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir the summons by ED Omar Abdullah are being connected with coming assembly elections in which most of the rivals of BJP expect such questioning.
