Security for polls
In order to review the preparations along with security for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), reviewed meetings are being held in every district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently District Election Officer (DEO), Doda, chaired a meeting with officers from AC 51 Bhaderwah, AC 52 Doda and AC 53 Doda West to review the preparations for upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
During the meeting, Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) from each constituency, Zonal Magistrates, Sector Magistrates and police officers were present.
The DEO emphasized the importance of maintaining security for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) throughout the election process. Additionally, the DEO instructed that home voting for physically disabled and elderly individuals should commence on April 14th.
The DEO emphasized the need for continuous communication with ARO Bhaderwah to address any issues or demands that may arise. Proper coordination and timing for dispatching polling materials, EVMs and polling parties were also discussed extensively to ensure smooth conduct on polling day.
Throughout the meeting, focus remained on ensuring proper coordination among all stakeholders, timely dispatch of election materials, and adherence to schedule for dispatching polling parties and EVMs to their designated locations.
The importance of reporting voting turnout promptly and maintaining vigilance over EVMs during transportation and storage was reiterated.
