Conservation projects
Recently a meeting of the District Level Coordination-cum- Implementation Committee for the revival, restoration, preservation and maintenance of architectural and heritage sites was held here under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar.
He was apprised about the progress of ongoing conservation projects undertaken for preservation, revival, restoration and maintenance of Ram Mandir, Mangleshwar Temple, Aali Masjid, Vicharnag Temple, Zeathyar temple, Ziyarat Naqashband Sahib, Narayan Mutt temple and Baba Ghulam-U-Din Shrine.
He laid emphasis on collaborative efforts by all line departments in restoration practices to conserve architecture of the sites on heritage pattern. He also directed them to expedite efforts closely to ensure the effective implementation of heritage preservation projects.
He discussed the new conservation projects identified for current fiscal. He asked them to prepare DPRs at the earliest ensuring all revival, restoration works are carried out while preserving the rich art, culture and heritage of Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Superintending Engineer R&B, Narinder Kumar; Deputy Director Archives, Executive Engineers of I&FC, R&B and other concerned.
