The government has approved a master plan to turn Gulmarg into an ace tourist destination, emphasizing environment-friendly development and preservation of its cultural and natural heritage. This plan will ensure that the development of Gulmarg’s tourism infrastructure is sustainable and responsible, minimizing the impact on the environment and local ecosystems.

Gulmarg is also set to host the 5th Khelo India Winter Games, featuring over 1,000 athletes from 35 states and union territories, which will help promote the destination and develop its ski slopes.
