The Chartered Accountants Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Srinagar by the Kashmir Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The event marked the 76th Chartered Accountants Day and commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a plantation drive symbolizing growth and sustainability. A blood donation camp was also organized as part of the celebrations, highlighting the profession’s commitment to social responsibility.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended warm greetings to the chartered accountants, recognizing their vital role in Jammu and Kashmir’s economic landscape. The event also felicitated members who qualified as Chartered Accountants from May 2020 onwards and honored CA Fayaz Ahmad Ganai, who recently took charge as the Chief Financial Officer of The Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
The celebration underscored the significant contributions of Chartered Accountants to the business and financial sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. With over 400,000 members and 900,000 students, the ICAI has become the world’s second-largest accounting body, renowned for its emblem of Garuda and the motto symbolizing vigilance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of Chartered Accountants in fostering financial transparency, ethical governance, and economic stability. As the profession continues to evolve, CAs will play a crucial role in supporting India’s economic growth, ensuring compliance, and promoting sustainable practices.
