Budgam cop posted in Srinagar tests positive for COVID-19, seniors to be quarantined
Srinagar : A policeman from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Nazir Ahmed told that the man from Rathsuna Budgam was found positive after coming in contact with Tableegi Jamat.
“He is posted at India Reserve Police (IRP) 3rd Battalion at Bemina Srinagar. Though he didn’t attend any religious event organized by Tableegi Jamat but came into contact with them in Srinagar,” Dr Nazir said.
He said that a message has been dispatched to his seniors and those who have come in his contact will be quarantined.
Among the 301 Covid-19 cases Srinagar has highest rate of active as well as recovery cases. 11 patients from Srinagar has recovered from this disease and at present there are 64 cases. 10 patients from North Kashmir’s Bandipora have also recovered followed by Shopian 2, Udhampur 4, Budgam and Jammu 3 while one patient each has recovered in Pulwama, Rajouri and Kishtwar.
Srinagar has 64 positive cases followed by Banipora 45, Baramulla 41, Kupwara 25, Shopian 12, Ganderbal 13, Budgam 9, Kulgam 5, Pulwama 2, Anantnag 1, Jammu 23, Udhampur 15, Rajouri 2 and Samba 4. (KNT)
