Gunmen shot dead cop in South Kashmir
Anantnag, Apr 19, KNT: Suspected militants shot at a policeman in Hillad Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district late evening.
Police sources told KNT that a Selection Grade Constable was shot at and injured at his home.
Sources added that cop was shifted to hospital in critical condition, however he succumbed on way.
Sources identified the cop as Manzoor Ahmed Dar posted at Police Post Larno Anantnag area. They said he had arrived home from duty when militants emerge in the area.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, the official said, adding the area has been cordoned off and a search for the militants launched. (KNT)
