Gunfight starts in South Kashmir
Pulwama: Gunfight started between the government forces and militants in Shaarshali of Khrew-Pampore belt of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday early morning.
An official said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants cordon and search operation was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 50 RR, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Awantipora Police.
As forces zeroed towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon the forces which were retaliated, triggering a gunfight, he said
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped and operation was under way when this report was filled.
