Highway up-gradation: Blacktopping work started on two major stretches in Doda district
DODA, JUNE 11: National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), has started blacktopping work on two major stretches of highway in the limits of Doda district.
As per the officials of the NHIDCL the blacktopping work has been started in the district from Assar towards Khaleni & Thathri towards Pul-Doda on war footing for hassle free plying of traffic.
The officials informed that blacktopping work has been completed on 13 KM length from Assar to Khaleni and 5 KM from Thathri towards Pul Doda.
The up-gradation work also includes the clearance of landslides and construction of temporary drains at the places prone to water logging problem, the NHIDCL said.
The blacktopping on the twin stretches has been started on the directions of District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode and the progress of the work is being closely monitored by the SDM Thathri on daily basis.
Meanwhile, the DDC, on Thursday, inspected the pace of blacktopping work on the twin stretches and directed the executing agency to compete the work in stipulated timeframe and as per the specification of National Highway Authority of India. He further directed to follow safety protocol for protection against Covid-19.
