Live electric wires on wooden poles, trees pose danger to Langate residents
Handwara, June 18: Residents of Pethpora Ananwan in Langate area of Handwara in north Kashmir on Thursday expresses strong resentments against the PDD department as the low lying electric wire posing serious threat to the lives of the people and their property in the area.
The residents said that the electric wire is low lying and is hanging on the branches of trees, they said few months back the PDD department start digging out pits to install poles but left the pits open, halfway without installing the electric poles.
The resident said there was threat of low lying wire in the area but now open pits are also posing a serious threat to inhabitants to the area
Abdul Hamid a resident of Pethpora Ananwan told KNS, that the PDD department sanctioned electric poles to our village, they also started the work, but due to unknown reason the poles have not been installed so.
He also said that the pits that were dug out by PDD have been filled by locals as they were posing threat to children, women and cattle’s. He said they have approached the concern department several times but no avail he said.
Meanwhile when KNS contacted JE, Langate, Nazir Ah, he said that they have installed the poles in the area, there are definitely other places, where poles are yet to installed, the work was stopped due current health crisis. He further said they will look into the matter and the poles will be installed once the situation returns normal, Nazir Ah said. (KNS)
