COVID-19: Young lady among two die in Kashmir, toll reaches 162
Srinagar, July 11 (KNO): Two more Covid-19 patients including a young lady from Anantnag have died, taking the total number of deaths related to Covid-19 to 162 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two patients who died include a 24-year-old lady from Hakura, Anantnag and a 77-year-old man from Hyderpora, Srinagar. The officials said that the young lady from Anantnag died at SHMS while the elderly man from Srinagar died at SKIMS. Dr. Nazir Chaoudhary, medical superintendent at SMHS the lady from Anantnag who was admitted on 03 July was very sick and was suffering from hypertension and other ailments. “She died at SMHS on Friday late night.” He said that the patient was referred from LD hospital after she had a caesarean delivery and the patient died due to brain hemorrhage while her baby is fine. Dr. Farooq Jan, medical superintendent at SKIMS told KNO that the elderly man from Hyderpora, Srinagar was very sick and was on a ventilator in the IDB block and died at around 7:45 am. “Patient was a case of Carcinoma Urinary Bladder and was admitted with Bilateral pneumonia with ARDS,” he said. With two more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 162 including 147 from Kashmir division and 15 from Jammu division—(KNO)
