New political equations
With main faces of mainstream political parties still behind the bars, many former ministers and lawmakers in the recent past have showing their willingness to participate in the political activities in Kashmir valley.
According to media reports published recently, this new group led by Altaf Bukhari is likely to meet Prime Minister and Home Minister to advocate for some restoration of rights in Kashmir before they can plunge into the elections. The group is going with demands like restoration of Statehood, Purpose Oriented Domicile Rights (for Land and Jobs) etc. which fall within the jurisdiction of the Government of India and the Parliament.
Political equation in Kashmir minus Abdullahs and Muftis is possible according to the feedback received by central government from ground in Jammu and Kashmir. Although, this group is demanding release of all political prisoners, but they will not like the release of Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah before the elections are held in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
This group has also in its fold reportedly the patron of PDP Muzzafar Hussain Beigh who in his recent media interviews has given all indications that post abrogation of article 370 people of Jammu and Kashmir should move ahead and look for a better future. He was recently awarded with the medal on January 26, by the central government as his relationship with BJP is becoming more and cozier.
