25 envoys from different countries including from the European countries have come for a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to have the feel of ground situation prevailing here.

They will visit both summer and winter capitals, while being briefed by administration, army and police. LG Murmu will also meet the delegation and appraise them about the situation in Kashmir and also in Jammu region.

The delegation includes diplomats from Canada, Austria, Uzbekistan, Uganda, Slovak Republic, Netherlands, Namibia, Kyrgyz Republic, Bulgaria, Germany, Tajikistan, France, Mexico, Denmark, Italy, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Poland, and Rwanda.

The second batch of diplomats also includes EU representatives, and their participation assumes significance as the EU Parliament recently initiated to bring a joint draft resolution on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and Kashmir, the vote on which was later deferred.

The India-EU summit is also slated to take place in Brussels next month where External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will be participating in that summit.

In the month of January, central government allowed first batch of envoys to visit Kashmir and they stayed here and after their departure, gave a feedback to their respective countries about Kashmir. That feedback has encouraged the foreign ministry to allow another batch of the foreign envoys to visit Kashmir.
