Jammu and Kashmir is far behind in the latest techniques of productive farming especially integrated farming and different government wings responsible for bringing such revolution on ground are still acting in the old bureaucratic manner.

In such scenario few awareness camps in some villages will not bring the change which is the need of hour for the farming in Kashmir valley. Entire Kashmir valley has high scope for agricultural, horticultural farming besides poultry and dairy entrepreneurship. These all streams of farming should be culminated in a one unit at the village level so that the average farmer gets the benefits of all the government schemes at his door steps rather than knocking at the door of the officers for months without any results.

Government will have to change their response to the needs of farmers and should try to redress their grievances at the village level and encourage them to go for integrated farming and such activities should be monitored by the officials of different departments.

There is also suggestions that different wings of the government like agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, sheep husbandry and fisheries should be made as a one unit at the village level so that the villagers are not forced to go to different offices and waste their time for requesting them to provide them the schemes available for the development of such activities.

Unless there is innovation in the approach of government to deal with farming at the ground level, with each passing year, all those farmers who are suffering losses are switching over to other activities due to the lack of interests in farming.

Integrated farming scheme should be introduced at the village level and all the wings of the government responsible for the integrated schemes should go to the village and empower them.
