BJP National General Secretary recently told media that every leader in his party wants situation in Jammu and Kashmir to become conducive for political process so that normal political activities like elections could be held in the newly created Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defending the arrest of three former chief ministers he said that they have been kept under detention so that the situation is normalized and there is no law and order problem in Kashmir valley.

He told media that when the situation will improve in Kashmir, all political parties and leaders would be allowed to move freely and do their political activities.

Such statement of Ram Madhav has come close to the heels of recent statement Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh that he was praying for the release of all the three former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed hope that after their release they will contribute mainstream political process and allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to reap the fruits of greater integration with rest of the country.

Recently both National Conference and PDP said that they cannot undertake any political activity as their leadership was under detention. Government also said that they were monitoring the situation on ground in Kashmir and will release all the political prisoners if the situation is normalize on the ground completely.

Post of abrogation of article 370 on August 5, 2019 all the mainstream activists and political leaders were kept under detention and some of them were released after months of detention recently.
