Director Horticulture (P&M) conducts two days visit to fruit & vegetable markets of Kashmir Division

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 28: To review the progress of work on upcoming terminal markets at Jablipora Bijbehara and Aglar Shopian and to take stock of procurement of Apples by NAFED under MIS 2019-2020, Director Horticulture (P&M), Imam-u-Din conducted two-day extensive tour of fruit and vegetable markets of Kashmir division.

He was accompanied by Dy. Director Kashmir, Executive Engineer Horticulture Engineering wing and other concerned Officers.

During the visit, the Director reviewed the total procurement of Apples by NAFED under MIS 2019-20 with the Area Marketing Officers of Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian and payment disbursement to the concerned beneficiaries.

The Director later visited the upcoming Terminal markets at Jablipora Bijbehara and Aglar Shopian to review the progress work in both the mandies and issued instructions for completion of these works on priority.

The Director along with his team also met Dy. Commissioner Anantnag and Shopian and apprised them about the MIS payments and present status of ongoing works at Jablipora and Aglar Mandies.

The Director also visited proposed site of Satellite Market at Kreeri and inspected Asia’s second largest Mandi in Sopore.

Interacting with DC Baramulla, he apprised him about the issues related to Sopore Mandi. The DC gave onspot directions to the concerned agencies for immediate resolution of the issues.

The visit concluded with the inspection of Fruit and vegetable market Parimpora Srinagar. He inspected ongoing work on Cold Store being constructed under PPP mode.

Interacting with the President Kashmir Valley Fruit Association , the Director assured the Association members that the department will make every effort for the further development of the mandi.
