DC Ganderbal reviews preventive measures

GANDERBAL, MARCH 18: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today convened a meeting of the concerned officers to review the preventive measure put in place to avert any kind of eventuality in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CPO Ganderbal, SDM Kangan and CMO Ganderbal.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held regarding implementation of government advisories and directions issued with regards to COVID-19. The meeting also discussed functioning of District Control Room, surveillance teams, fumigation progress and sanitation drives at the places of public importance.

While reviewing the functioning of surveillance teams, it was decided that more such teams will be constituted so that the work area is efficiently distributed for more outreach and quality surveillance. The officials of District Control Room were asked to keep the up-to-date information ready at disposal.

 Surveillance teams were asked to keep check on outside laborers who are coming from different parts of country and take necessary action and home quarantine them, if needed.  The feedback was also sought from the surveillance teams about their functioning and issues, if any, which need to be taken care of.

The meeting also discussed the plan for establishment of screening points at tourist destinations in the district including Sonamarg and Manasbal.

While reviewing the fumigation process in the district, the concerned officials were directed to carry a special fumigation drive at public places including hospitals, government offices and other places of public importance across the District.

DDC also impressed upon the officers to be proactive, vigilant and work in close coordination to tackle the situation, saying that no lapse in this regard will be tolerated.
