Grim Situation
Kashmir valley is witnessing a very grim situation due to the growing threat of corona virus and we have already loosed 1% to this deadly virus. 18 persons have been found positive and thousands of people are presently under surveillance due to the growing threat of COVID-19.
According to the official figures available, 5763 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance and, so far, 18 cases have tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir (16 active positive, 01 recovered and 01 death).
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19) 3136 persons have been kept under home quarantine (including facilities operated by Govt.) while as 169 are in hospital quarantine.
Persons who are under home surveillance stand at 1877 while as 581 persons have completed their 28-day surveillance period.
The Bulletin further said that 423 samples have been sent for testing of which 400 tested as negative. The bulletin further stated that 05 reports are awaited till March 27, 2020.
The above figures released by the government show the gravity of the situation and it became a responsibility of all citizens of Kashmir to stay in their homes and cooperate with government so that there is no dangerous spread of COVID-19.
It is essential to maintain physical distance so that the chain of this deadly virus is broken in Kashmir and human lives are saved.
