District Administration Kupwara distributes cash assistance of Rs 2.59 crore among construction workers, labourers

KUPWARA, MARCH 30: Continuing its efforts to provide timely succor to the needy persons during the lock down, District Administration Kupwara, today distributed Rupees 1.45 Crore among 1880 beneficiaries as Education Assistance under Building and other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act as COVID-19 assistance announced by the Central Government recently.

Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kupwara  added that apart from Rs 1.45 crore, an amount of Rs 1.14 crore was also distributed among 11427   registered labours  at the rate of Rs. 1000 per head through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as COVID-19 assistance during lockdown.

District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Anshul Garg has urged the labour class of the district, whose livelihood has effected during lockdown, to avail the benefit of various welfare schemes envisaged for the welfare of construction workers.
