Despite all efforts by administration to arrest the growing trend of more positive cases in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the numbers are only piling up. It will take some more days for the curve to get flattened in Kashmir as the cases are multiplying on daily basis.
The figures coming from the official spokesman regarding the cases of coronavirus in Kashmir valley are alarming and frightening. Administration has not been so prompt at the beginning, when Covid-19 infection travelled to Kashmir valley and many cases mingled with society with out detection.
How police officers and bureaucrats were helping their relatives and families to enter Kashmir valley via Srinagar international airport is known to everyone here. Even the first positive case of Srinagar city was allowed to mingle with his family with the intervention of senior police officer posted in Srinagar.
All said and done, administration will have to walk extra mile to identify all the suspects with travel history without any further delay. The cycle of Covid-19 infection can break only, if police and authorities will focus on such cases rather than thrashing people on streets, who are forced by the shortage of essentials to come on the roads.
Common people have lot of problems for their daily needs as the supply chain is still disrupted in many parts of Srinagar and other areas of Kashmir valley. Government should understand that people are facing shortage of essential items on daily basis they will violate the norms set by the administration. It is the duty of people to adhere to the norms set by the administration to break the cycle of coronavirus especially to maintain social distancing.
