Govt Revokes PSA Detention Order Of PDP Leader Naeem Akhtar

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday revoked Public Safety Act detention order of senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar.

Naeem was detained at the time of abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Booked under the stringent PSA, the former minister was initially kept at the Centaur hotel in Srinagar and later shifted to MLA hostel. From there, he was shifted to a government quarter at Gupkar Road.

Sources said that he is expected to be released later in the day.
