Srinagar, June 28 (KNS): Former Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah on Sunday expressed remorse over back to back government orders that created panic across UT.
Taking micro-blogging site Twitter, former CM tweeted, “Government orders are creating panic in Kashmir & unfortunately after all the lies & false assurances last year even if/when the government explains these orders hardly any of us will take the assurances at face value. That said they still need to explain these orders”.
Notably two separate government orders on stocking up of LPG cylinders for two months in the Kashmir valley and on vacating of school buildings for the security forces in Ganderbal, adjoining Kargil, has triggered a fresh wave of anxiety among the locals, in the wake of India-China face-off.
Prior to annulment of Article 370 by New Delhi last year, regional administration had also issued back to back order including one directed national and international tourists to curtail their Kashmir visit and return to native places without any delay. Though authorities then directed general public to not pay heed to rumors but later on with the onset of August 5, 2019, the special position of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and 35(A) was removed and the state was divided into two UTs – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh followed by imposition of ‘preventive measures’ for several months, detention of political leaders and activists and severe communication blockade.
