Covid 19 cannot be controlled by closing shops
Kashmir Trade Alliance has termed the lockdown as mere shutter down and said that restricting only traders and shopkeepers to their homes would not curb the growing cases of the Covid-19.
According to statement issued to KNS reads, President Kashmir Trade Alliance Ajaz Shahdhar said “Administration decided to start the second phase of the lockdown in the valley, but the only thing that came out of this lockdown was that, the shops, offices and businesses establishments were locked, as a result of which People associated with Trade suffered a lot”.
Shahdar said that since March, the lockdown has caused a loss of about Rs 15,000 crore to the economy, but it cannot be denied that it was the shopkeepers who have suffered the most. He said that the spread of the epidemic could be prevented by following the guidelines and SOP’s By Department of Health and Administration
Shahdar said that in view of Eid, most of the shopkeepers had also bought various items from outside the state and paid the payments, however, as a result of the unexpected lockdown, the shopkeepers are now suffering from mental illness. ” due to the closure of shops and warehouses, transporters are also worried about where to dump the goods” he said
He said that besides opening parks and gardens, the administration is also planning to start tourism activities on one hand and . On the other hand, shopkeepers are Caged in their houses.
