Awantipora Police on Monday said to have arrested a drug peddler from Ladermud Crossing of Awantipora area in south Kashmir and have recovered 250 grams of contraband substance from his postseason.
Police have identified him as Aqeel Ahmad Ansari resident of Barkhan,Nawab Gung Bareli UP and upon preliminary questioning he seems to be involved in transportation, selling of Psychotropic drugs in Awantipora area. 250 grams of contraband substance suspected to be heroin was recovered from the possession of the arrested person.
Case FIR Number 118/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
General Public of Awantpora, Tral , Pampore and Khrew are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in neighbourhood area. Persons found indulging in drug peddlers will be dealt strictly under law. (KNS)
