An elderly woman was mauled by bear in Tangmarg area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The incident occurred at Tumberhama village of Tangmarg.

Local sources told news agency KNT that bear attacked a 55 year old woman when she was walking in a field. The attack left her critically injured. She was rushed to hospital where doctors declared her dead.

The victim has been identified as Zoona Begum wife of Haji Muhammad Akbar Malik. (KNT)
