Div Com visits Civil Secretariat, Govt Quarters Inspects Darbar move arrangements

JAMMU, OCTOBER 16: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today visited Civil Secretariat and Government quarters to inspect ongoing works there in view of move of civil secretariat and other offices to Jammu from the summer Capital Srinagar.

The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by senior officers of Estates, PWD, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, FCS&CA, Police, Traffic and other concerned.

At Civil Secretariat, the Div Com took a round of each floor and inspected the ongoing works. The concerned officers briefed about the work done so far and future work plan.  He directed the concerned officers to expedite the work keeping in view quality norms.  He also instructed the officers to ensure the functioning of hand sanitization machines installed in the civil secretariat.

Meanwhile, he also visited   residential government quarters at  Panjtirthi, BC road,  Sarwal, Janipur and Company Bagh and took stock of arrangements being made there for darbar move employees.

The Div Com asked the Estate Department to further gear up men and machinery for timely completion of   repair and renovation works being executed in these quarters. He also passed directions for development of parks and green spaces in residential quarters.

He also took stock of power, water, sanitation, security and other services at residential colonies and directed the concerned departments to ensure adequate facilities.

Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting with concerned officers to review the arrangements for move of civil secretariat and other offices to Jammu.

The Divisional Commissioner sought details about the status of sanitation and renovation, upgradation works to be taken up in secretariat and government quarters.

The concerned officers appraised the Div Com that the renovation works are in progress and would be completed on time.

He directed the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that the renovation, upgradation and repair work in all the government residential colonies is completed well in time, besides facilities like drinking water, electricity and ration etc are made available.

The meeting also discussed security arrangements at secretariat and in the residential quarters for move employees.

He also asked the traffic department to frame a comprehensive traffic management plan.

The meeting was attended by senior functionaries of Estates department, Police, Health, Floriculture, FCS&CA, Traffic, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC and other concerned departments.
