ED summons to Farooq Abdullah nothing less than political vendetta: Omar

Srinagar: National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has termed the summoning of party president by the enforcement department as “nothing less than political vendetta after the formation of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration”.

Taking to his Twitter handle,  the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir also said that no raids were conducted at the residence of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, “The party will be responding to this ED summons shortly. This is nothing less then political vendetta coming days after the formation of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration. To set the record straight no raids are being conducted at Dr Sahib’s residence.”

Earlier in the day, National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and is being questioned, officials said.

A local news gathering agency quoting unnamed officials reported that ED asked Dr. Farooq to reach its Srinagar office at 11:30 am today,  “He is possibly being questioned regarding cricket scam,” a source said—(with inputs from KNO)
