PDP has faced a lot of crisis after it parted ways with BJP in the government. When BJP pulled the rug, they started doing their best to see Mehbooba Mufti alone in the political arena of Kashmir.

After sometime, many PDP leaders and lawmakers left the party and formed a new political party known as JK Apni Party. Another Former Minister Javid Mustafa Mir joined Shah Faisal’s party at that point of time.

However, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh who was already maintaining a distance did not join the Apni Party but remained as patron of PDP. Strangely he was the only leader of PDP who was not arrested and the BJP government was in touch with him regarding Kashmir according to media reports.

Basically Muzaffar Hussain Beigh was advocating that all the political parties in Kashmir should in one voice ask for statehood and also the protection for their rights under article 371.

However, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti was not of this view. She always advocated restoration of article 370 and unification of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

She is not in favor of union territory status to Ladakh region and after her release in the PAGD she advocated that they should start their political outreach with the people from Ladakh region.

It was because of her insistence that PAGD dispatched the delegation under former chief minister Omar Abdullah to Drass and Kargil and people of these areas said that they were with PAGD for their struggle for the restoration of statehood to the entire erstwhile state.

Now Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has resigned over the issue of not getting a seat to his close associate from Wagoora did not go well in the PAGD.
