Panic has gripped areas of Sopore in north Kashmir after a suspicious-looking box has been sighted lying near a police post  along Poutkhah-Muqam road this afternoon.

Reports said that locals in the vicinity were alerted after sighting of an an iron box (safe) near police post Choora and subsequently informed the local police.

Confirming the development a police official said that a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has been intimated and a team is on way to the site.

“Vehicular traffic along the road stretch has been suspended till further orders”, the official added. (GNS)
